President Obama wants to start building new nuclear power plants as well as increase off shore drilling. That scares me even more than oil leaks. We can't get our regulatory agencies to do their jobs due to the decades long influence of corporate interests, flexians going between government and industry, and the crooked legislators who help design the laws in their favor. Compromising and leaving Bush era people in place in the government agencies is not going to fix this problem and that is what President Obama is doing. Opening up off shore drilling before fixing MMS was putting the cart before the horse.
